1) We like to point out hypocracy. Repubs are actually the ones proclaiming themselves to be more moral then everybody else, and yet are usually the ones caught in scandals like these

and

2) If a man were to engage in the kind of lewd conduct Craig practiced with a women instead of a man, that too would be grounds for breaking the law.

Um, que? I really don't understand your question. For one, I'm a liberal, and I have no idea what you mean by "alternative lifestyles." My idea of an alternative lifestyle is a choice of a different way to live, and guess what? I'm for it, support it wholeheartedly as long as you figure you can get by on it.
As for hating minorities, the poor, and children, how misguided do you have to be? I've been reading continuous posts, mostly from conservatives like yourself, that automatically demonize liberals. I just have one quesiton for you. WHY?
Why do you systematically ruin the debate? I could tell you why I think your ideas on minorities, the poor and children cause you to be the ones hurting them, but I would never say that you hate them. You can say the same about us, but don't use the word "hate." Everyone in this country hates something, but don't label a whole group as having a problem with others. For example, liberals support welfare policies for the poor to keep them from having major financial problems, we support more money in schools for children's education, and we're big fans of equality in America. I'm not going to play down to you and talk about how conservatives hurt these groups, because I don't believe they do. I believe certain policies hurt these groups, which many conservatives oppose, and some liberals support.
So, for the last time, STOP MAKING GENERALIZATIONS. And don't act like you know something we don't unless you're actually going to give us an argument to prove it. I haven't spent the past 4 years debating just to hear unwarranted arguments.

I guess your bias blinds you to the truth so much you are handicapped yourself. Perhaps the "Lefties" would call you "reality challenged" but as a mere moderate I feel no obligation to water down my message.

I hope you are Canadian, or maybe Chinese, because your attitude would be a disgrace in a free born citizen of the United States of America. Here we believe that there is room for people to disagree, and that each man and woman has the right to express their beliefs without fear. Wherever you come from, remember that when you talk to an American you had better respect their right to disagree. Our country was built by men and women who engaged in a civil, reasoned debate that resulted in many compromises acceptable to the majority, but still protective of rights of the minority. We may not be perfect, but we work together.

That partisan rubbish only destroys a democracy, so leave it in your homeland. It is simply unAmerican to attack either Liberal or Conservative simply for their beliefs. Since it is also harmful to the political health of our country it is also disloyal. You might be a good citizen in Toronto with that attitude, but in Des Moines you are a danger to our national security.

As for your concern about the nonMcCarthyites being adopted by the so called Left, please do not worry. They might be betrayed in the end, but that will be better than the complete rejection they have received from the Republicans.

That rejection is in and of itself an amazing thing, given how many of the Republican leadership are now revealed to be closet queens and child molesters. Astonishing! All this time we thought they were on their knees to pray!

See this is an interesting thing you've said here. While I believe it is true that most liberals are racist, they don't outwardly show it. They show it through programs like affirmative action where they believe that a person cannot stand alone on his/her own merits, so the very nice government office must step in and tell employers who to hire. Quotas are a ridiculous thing and affirmative action is a ridiculous program.

I think that conservatives are more racist in that they do not necessarily hide it behind programs that not only hurt blacks, but also hurt white people and the economy as lesser qualified people are getting jobs simply because of their race. As long as we as a country keep telling black people that its ok and there will always be a job for some of you thanks to affirmative action, no real progress will be made in the black community.

We tell them that they are not as smart as white people we tell them that they don't have to get up and go to work, instead they can collect money by sitting on their couch and having babies. These seem to me to blatantly racist and have obviously done a lot to help the betterment of the black community.

I wonder who was better off, the blacks in the fifties and sixties, when there was some semblance of a family (mother, father, children) or black people now when the family is not a word they understand, let alone strive for. I think the black people living in the ghetto selling drugs and shooting at each other are definitely doing better than their ancestral counterparts who had good jobs and worked hard. This is definitely the kind of equal rights MLK, Jr. was looking for. He of course would not want to be hired on merit, he would have wanted to been hired because of his skin color.

But that's ok, because if blacks had it as well as whites, then people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be out of business and the left would have to move on to its next abomination, which shouldn't be hard to find as there are many protected classes in this country.

The idea is that everyone should be able to be honest about who they are, and that would be possible if there were more tolerance and less religious hypocrisy in our country.

I don't think the lefties hate them(homos), I just think they like to put hypocritical Republicans on the spot. Personally, I think we should put all gay politicans who act contrary in favor of gays on the spotlight. They're hypocrites and are misrepesenting themselves as politicians.

It's not the fact that they're gay but rather their fraudulent lies and legislature that could be recognized as treason.

As far as your "actually hate" part, I beg to differ. Look at how many of them dems happen to be homos, minorities, poor, and children 18+.
