I've worked in so many countries in the Middle East and Africa. It seems that viewing life through a lens is making me realize that life is a cruel joke. Some days I wish I was blind, some days I wish I was dead. My photos capture the emotion and the pain... but now it's having a traumatic effect on my life. I have not sold any of my work. I just look at it and feel the pain and then put it away.

Is it time to cash out? If it is, I'd like to go out in style by getting the ultimate photo in Iraq or Afghanistan... how should it be?

OMG... you need help....don't do anything foolish...you must have some great work, so put your energy into a book. i would love to see your work....it is you and what you saw....no one else saw it like you did. i envy you....i would like to be better at photography and make money at it. not as deep as you are doing though. maybe more stills and fun things....things i like to see and be very good at it. but remember, when you do a book, be fair and put in both sides, just not the trauma. there is good in everything but you are not seeing it yet.
