I love this place. I go there everyday with my colleagues for lunch - every single day, and have been going for months now. The place is so crowded that its crazy! I think its the good tasting food, but still, everybodys gets bored of eating the same thing every single day. I dont understand!

haha :D yes I can see my tennis shoes. And I apparently have lost weight, I do not get the sour cream or guacamole. But Yes, I have been eating it for months now and I dont get sick of it. While planning for lunch we would think of alternatives but then go back to chips, as we call it :) smone said crack, I dont know, it is something. Maybe some Management expert should do some case study on CMG. BTW, McDonald's divested its shares in Chipotle. Its an independent company and within 3 months its share went from $60 to $100. Buts its so damn good!!

It is popular for a number of reasons. First, people don't know what good mexican food is. A lot of people have never had it, or they believe that real mexican food is Taco Bell, in which case, when you go to Chipotle, wow, it's a whole different taste. Another reason is that they sell the freshness. People interpret fresh as healthy; they are so used to seeing greasy hamburgers and fried chicken, and all of the sudden, here comes Chipotle with their fresh food. But is it healthy? No way! I remember after I first went there I checked the website for nutrition information. At the time that was easily found on their website, but when I went a few months later, well, it magically disappeared (or else it is buried several levels down on some page so it can't be easily accessed). I remember the chicken burrito I loved so much, without the guac, weighed in around 2000 calories! That is barely under what people should eat all day let alone in a single meal. Also, the sodium was through the roof. So yeah, keep eating there, keep loving the taste, but in the long run you might as well be shoving Big Mac's down your throat. I wouldn't say stop going there, it is good food for a chain, but understand that fresh does not mean healthy and that authentic mexican food Chipotle is not.

Why Is Chipotle So Popular

Because the food is very fresh, and for the most part, good for you. There's some variety, it's fast, it's easy, it's portable.
It's just all around convenient but doesn't make you feel deathly ill the rest of the day, like eating at McDonalds or other burger places make you feel.
If there were more fast food places like Chipotle that offered very fresh, healthy, fast food, it would put places like McDonalds out of business.

My belief is that it has to do with the way that they wrap the burritos in foil. Which is then peeled off in layers according to how much you have eaten.

So you can eat it for lunch without needing to take a shower afterwards.

Every weekday for 6 months? You are crazy. You need to stop this while you can still see your tennis shoes. You can see your tennis shoes right?

It's pretty good for Mexican fast food. Better than a lot of the other chains out there.

I personally think Baja Fresh is better, although Chipotle isn't bad either. All in all though, I prefer authentic food, not the cookie cutter American-Mexican food.

Because they're always next to Starbucks. when my Wife says "Do you wanna go to Chipotle's?" I know she means " I sure could go for a Grande Nonfat Iced Caramel Macchiato right now!"

It is a smoked jalapeno pepper. It is normally packed in an adobo sauce. It is pretty hot, but has a nice smokey flavor.

Not in my part of the country it isn't. Thankfully, here in New England almost no one eats Mex food and almost no place sells it.

There is just no acounting for the lack of good taste in the rest of the country :-)
