(I am waiting till tomorrow because my hubby will be home.)

I suggest you feed him in the Late AM if that fits in your schedule. Here are some tips. Give it to him when he is not overly hungry. Second, Late AM that way if he has a reaction to it you will know it before he goes to sleep. Have fun and get your camera ready for a messy face. I remember feeding my guy the first time and it was great fun. ENJOY!!!

I tried feeding my son cereal the other day. He is 3 months and 4 wks. He mostly pushed the cereal out with his tongue. I knew that it was going to take a very long time to do this and I get home at 5:30. I really have time to do that. So, I don't know if I should still try feeding him cereal or not right. I hadn't tried it since then. I may try again tonight. I'll probably give him some milk and leave some room for cereal too. I made the cereal really liquidy. Good luck to you.

When I started my son on cereal, it was at bedtime. You may want to give it to him a little early so you can watch him for signs of a belly-ache. If you are feeding it to him on a spoon, make sure you don't make it too thick, he'll choke on it. If you find that he's having a problem liking it, (if you just make it with formula) add a little taste to it, like baby food peaches or apple sauce. I used to make mine with formula and add food tastes to it. The cereal is quite bland by itself. And for the first time, he may not take it well.
Good luck.

Try it when your baby is not overly tired or hungry. Feed your baby his regular feeding, except cut him off a little early to leave him just a bit hungry. Then give him single grain rice cereal. You can mix just a bit with water, breast milk, or formula. Try to make it really thin, almost liquid for his first feeding. Good luck!

I gave my daughter cereal before her second nap of the day. Make sure it is very watered down and don't every put it in a bottle.

in the morning is fine..give him small bites and see if he likes it cause there are different cereals out there that you can try...you can also give him cereal at lunch and dinner time too...just make sure you have his bottle handy so he can wash the cereal down after a few bites..don't worry you'll be fine

Be sure you have a bottle ready or breast whatever you use so he can wash the cereal down. All the best to you and your family!

i think i did my kids at lunch time. i don't necessarily think the time of day matters as much as the fact that your son be hungry, so lunch or dinner would work. also be prepared because some babies spit the food back, it can be really messy. their natural instinct is to push it out of their mouth. good luck and take some pictures (or video)!
