Both ways. When I was born my mom said I wouldn't want breast-milk so she gave me formula.

Breastmilk is definately better.....especially the colostrum that comes in before the milk make sure the baby at least gets that! But sometimes babies won't take to breast feeding.....but that does not mean they can't have breastmilk you can pump and feed them in the bottle. It has to do a lot of the time with nipple confusion.....because a bottle feeding is different thatn breast feeding. The gave my daughter a bottle in the nursery when she was first born and she never took to breast feeding after that......but she still got breast milk then and she got older I started putting her more and more on formula....I don't think it is normal for babies with teeth to continue breast feeding.....but however on the plus side they are doing better with making formula to be more like breast milk but nothing is ever like the original.

Breastmilk is the preferred method. It is healthier, boosts the baby's immunity, costs nothing (other than the mom eating healthily) and forms a good bond between mama and baby.
However, there are situations it is just not possible, so try not to fault those that don't breastfeed.
I breastfed both, but the second one I had to supplement with bottle because I simply could not produce enough milk. I have no idea why. I tried everything possible. But at least he got a few months of milk in him. He doesn't drink formula anymore now.

Breastmilk is best for the baby as it passes along some of the mother's immunity and provides the best nutrition, but there are some circumstances where formula is better. One case is if the baby can't tolerate its mother's milk. Another is if the mother does not produce enough milk. And of course, if the baby is adopted, breastmilk isn't possible.

I would have to say that breast is best because it contains antibodies that a mothers body produces that deal with germs in the environment she shares with her baby, technically, people would be healthier if everyone drank breast milk, not just the babies, but then again I heard that the more a woman uses her breasts, the more they sag as they get older, so I use formula.

well scientifically, breastmilk is much better, also it coincides with how old the baby is;
for example it will adjust itself to have the exact nutrients for a six month old...etc
also its less fatty, and higher in nutrients.
most babies on formula get unnecessarily fat.

It's not always possible to breast feed the baby. It's important to give it at birth because the milk is richer but, not all women can do it. Sometimes, there's just not enough milk. So the formula is necessary. I believe it is a personal choice.

breastmilk is probably the best and the healthiest, however,
the '" should " is a moot point. That decision belongs to
the Mother, and should not be open for discussion once
the decision is made. (my children were not breast fed,
the wife decided not to -- it is after all, her breasts)
