homework for my sister, teacher gave her a word but didnt spell it just told her that it was a rock. it starts with lith and she has to find the definition and i dont know what rock starts with that. could you help me. anyone who knows about rocks.

The lithosphere is loosely defined as the outer "rocky" portion of a planet's crust.

lithium is in rocks- that might be what the teacher wants
there is a lithosphere

The word root lith means rock - lithology, lithograph, lithography, monolith, etc.

But I don't know of any rocks that actually start with lith.

Do you mean Lithfication?
Its not a rock but it is a step in the process of making a metamorphic rock.
