You need to find the extra thick over night pad otherwise, double of on your undies, as someone mentioned.

If you haven't already, buy the pads that are specifically designed for night time wear - they are extra long and thick.

But if your period isn't that heavy, meaning that you don't need such high absorbency, then wearing two pads is fine. I usually do that if I'm staying anywhere other than my own bed as I don't want any embarrassing accidents!

I'm assuming that you wear two pairs of undies - a pad on each? That's what I usually do if I need to and it definitely works as this holds the inner pad closer to your body, so preventing leaks and I feel more confident. Otherwise, if I wear a single pad and am not sure of the flow, I'll be constantly waking up, worrying!

So, yes, this is perfectly normal. However, wearing two pads and two pairs of undies tends to make you sweat more and it isn't so good for you as the air isn't able to circulate so try not to do it too often and use the night pads if you can. I hope this helps!

go out and buy the pads that are designed for nights!!
they may look a bit like diapers and are really big but hey i'd rather wear those big pads than have to buy new undies every month.

It really depends on how heavy your period is. I guess it is normal for you, do whatever makes you comfortable, some ppl get up often and change during menstruation, but I guess you've found a solution for you, it really doesn't matter if its not normal to other's.

Look for the pads labeled "extra long" or "overnight". They're longer and thicker and should eliminate this problem for you.
