You are going to get flamed for this, even if you didn't post it in the wrestling section.

They are interested in it the same way that most people are interested in movies or TV shows. Even though it takes the form of "sports entertainment" it is no different than other scripted shows on TV, except for the fact that there are no stunt doubles.

And your point is?????? Hey it's a show. Nothing more. People are interested because the characters are interesting, (most of the time), the story lines are good, (some of the time) and the "diva's" are hot. Add violence (fake or not, they cannot control gravity) and a little drama and comedy and you have a show people will want to watch.

Why are so many people interested in action movies? the point is that we know that it is fake, but it is exciting to watch and it certainly keeps us on the edge of our seats.

I also believe that fake is not the right word.....sure the punches are not real and the matches are staged, but falling off a 20 foot ladder hurts no matter what.....most, if not all of the injuries are real.

As long as they know it's fake what's the harm? No different than watching a movie.
