go to the mall or a store you like and try on clothes you think are cute that will look good on you're figure not on some other girl. Get what looks great on you not the hottest trends cause they come and go and hey wont it be better to create you're own trend. makeup wise just wear natural colored makeup that makes you're natural features stand out and look prettier.

1] dress your age - no juvenile printed shirts or hairdos, no high heels and layers of makeup.
2] waer colors and styles that flatter your figure and coloring, not just stuff that is 'hot'.
