Hi darling! Even though, I am the lucky one with a great experience, maybe it will still encourage you. I am 22 years old, have been on depo for almost 2 years and come off 4 months ago. My periods resturned after 2 months and no side affects. Plus I was trying to conceive(not even having much sex) and now I have just had 3 periods and I am 6 weeks pregnant with my second baby! I can not belive it because I though Depo will not wear off quickly. I did so many tests and they were negative that now when I really am pregnant, hard to believe! Do not stress so much, It will happen when you least expect it,. Just forget about it by concentrating on something else. Still , enjoy sex and have it evey other day. Do not listen so much to those who can not get pregnant after trying for years as everyone is different and even your doctor could help you with medicine in this case . Good luck!

I was on the Depo shot for about a year (3 years ago). My husband and I have been TTC for 25 Months with no luck, but I also have PCOS so I'm not really sure why I haven't conceived. Good luck!

I had 3 shots of the depo, and I would not recommend it to anyone.. It then took me 5 years to get pg and have my healthy now 19 month old boy. I was then lucky enough to concieve again a few months later and npw have another healthy 7 month old boy. I did have 2 mc while trying to get pg.. Everyone is different and their bodies handle things differently. I have known ladies to have the depo for years come off it and be pg the following months.. Good luck to you I hoep you get your BFP very soon :o)

Yes, I had the same thing happen to me. In fact I was on here a few months ago asking the same question.
The truth is Depo is very very effective in preventing pregnancy. So effective in fact that it may take up to a year after stopping the shot to concieve. I was on the shot for 9 months and it took 9 months after stopping to concieve. I used herbs to get my body back into shape. Now i am 31 weeks pregnant
Dont worry it will happen but also my Doc said that If I didnt concieve in Feb ( the month that I did concieve) that he would give me clomid or something to help. Ask you Doc for advice

I was on the depo shot for only 6 months when I decided to come off. I didn't have period for a 1 1/2 years afterwards and I wanted to get pregnant. I finally had to go to a specialist and after many, many blood test that found that I my estrogen level was menopausal. I had to be placed on Hormone replacement therapy and the fertility pills in order to get my estrogen kicked into gear again. I was pregnant within the month of taking clomid. See a specialist if you don't get pregnant after a couple more months.

I was on Depo for about 2 years, when I got married in 2004 I decided to get off of it and go on the birth control patch. I stopped Depo, started my regular periods the month after. About 6 months after being off of Depo and on the patch my husband and I decided we would stop birth control and see if we got pregnant. We did not track ovulation or anything to assist, we just let things happen. I got pregnant about 16 months after stopping my birth control. I do not know if being on Depo for that long had anything to do with it or if it was the fact that we were not trying very hard to get pregnant. Good luck to you anyway!!

I only had one depo shot and hated it!! ( I bled for 6 months straight). After the 6 months I took herbs to balance my hormones and that's what stopped the bleeding. We started TTC at that time and after two years of frustration and disappointment we saw an herbalist and took herbs to help promote pregnancy (false unicorn and red clover for me a prostate blend for my husband) and were finally able to conceive. Good luck it will happen, it just might take a while!

Keep trying...if you've only been trying for 3 months, that's hardly any time at all. Most women take almost a year to conceive. My friend is expecting a girl in October. She was on the depo for forever!!! It took her about 16mths to get prego. Good luck.

My friend stopped taking it after 4 years, 12 months before they started trying for a baby, and used birth control pills for 10 months. She got pregnant after 3 months of trying, which was 15 months after stopping the shot.
