Like Yankees? Would y'all like it if I called y'all Country Rednecks?

I've never called someone from the North a "yankee"...but I believe I will start now. I have no idea how many times I've been called redneck simply because I live in Texas.

Funny thing that. I was travelling through Europe with a bunch of guys from Alabama. Everybody on our tour bus, mostly Australians, called them Yanks or Yankees. They were filthy at being called that. We told them that we call all US people Yanks or Yankees. They got used to it.
Otherwise, it's the usual sibling rivalry thing that exists everywhere. In my city, we pay out on Northsiders all the time, even though many of them are my good freinds

I'm from Washington state and lived in the South for 8 years, next to some light hearted fun, no one was bad mouthing the North. It's the North that's doing all the name calling.
Redneck neck this, Buba that, inbreading jokes, hillbillies..... What names do you here northerns called?

funny we like to be called rednecks we call ourselfs rednecks all the time silly Yankee doesnt watch CMT or Jeff Foxworthy

but to answer your question its a regional name nothing demeaning about it
Edit funny Sally people that owned slaves and former slaves live side by side from where im from and nothing ever happen do you live in a fantasy world or something

We just call y'all Yankees. Hell, the Brits call us ALL Yankees. Now that's an insult!

You do call us rednecks and hicks and such. But, I don't care. My favorite joke that I love to tell my Yankee friends, "You'll never catch me North of the Mason-Dixon line."

bad names like wat? i live n da south n i don't hear it. the only name i could think of for a northerner anway would be yankee which doesn't really sound all that bad. But to answer ur question, the only reason i could think of is cuz maybe ppl up north think their better or smarter than ppl down south.
