Does this have something to do with his holdout or being tagged a franchise player?

Yes after further review it was a Lambo, hard to tell just looked like scrap metal in the picture!

He probably found out that Volkswagen is planning to sell Lamborghini and then realized he's driving an overpriced piece that can't handle the roads in Chicago for most of the year. Then took the 350,000$ car on a joy ride to get insurance money for it and get something that has a ride height of more then 4inches. Or maybe he was down at Thunderbowl sippin on some sizurp to long (happy hour on Sunday nights at Thunder bowl)

Actually Lance Briggs might be smarter than half the athlete's in the NFL...(I can see Pacman staying at the scene of the crime and "making it rain" till the cops showed up)...if your going to do something stupid at least don't get caught doing it. Yeah they found his Lambo...but hell it could have been much worse for him...a DWI or even a loss of life. By abandoning the car: no breath analyzer, no police and only a $1000 bond. He basically gets off free and he just has to deal with the humiliation of everyone knowing he cant handle his liquor.

NIGHT ON THE TOWN: $5,000
WRECKED LAMBO: $350,000
JAIL BOND:1,000
NOT GETTING CAUGHT BY GOODELL: PRICELESS!!!

He is no longer holding out, and I don't really see how this have to do with his franchise tag. The way he explained leaving the scene " He didn't want there to be a big scene there. "... Come to think about it, I wouldn't want to be next to a crashed Ferrari in the middle of the night waiting for cops, who knows who might show up before the cops..

Thanks.

First off... it was a 2007 Lambo, not a Ferrari. Secondly, obviously Lance Briggs made a poor choice somewhere in this situation. He was either driving drunk or made poor driving choices that resulted in a wreck. But I would have to say that IF he was driving under the influence, he kind of did the smart thing. Now he is only being charged with a misdemeanor of leaving the scene of an accident instead of a DUI.

I'm going to agree with John and Jess, he didn't want to get into trouble and for some reason or another wasn't thinking straight. It never occured to him the car would be found, linked to him and he would be in trouble anyway. Idiot. I wish I had so much extra cash I wouldn't sweat leaving a $350,000 car.

Because he was either drunk or stoned and didn't want to be caught that way so he had someone pick him up. If he reported the accident and the cops came to speak to him, then what? so he abandoned the car. What amazed me was that it was still intact--tires, lights, etc.

Come on dude...that has nothing to do with either! The reason he did it cause he was drunk and if he waited for the police to show up they would check his breath for alchol and he would get in trouble and he knew that.....the Commisioner aint having it with nobody...he's harsh and he's putting his foot down!!
