What are some good tips on how to solicit businesses. I am a cell phone provider. I would like to sell to cell phone retailers, but I would like approach in a professional manner.

You need to imagine yourself in their position. What is the problem they have that you can fix?

Don't think about what you offer until you know what they need. It's a cell phone. So what? Many companies make them. What do you do that's different that they care about?

What's the number one problem of cell phone retailers? I have no idea, but you need to find that out. Maybe it's that they don't want to be responsible for unsold inventory when it becomes obsolete. Can you fix that with a buy-back guarantee? Is it servicing the customer equipment? If so, can you do anything about that?

Find out what their gripes with your competitors are, and find a way to address those issues.
