A international corporation based out of Minnesota has made it a priority to cut two major areas of their corporation down to the bare bones...one is quality (who gives a darn about complaints from the customers) and IT, (service who needs service? Let them start using typewriters again.) All the while the CEO complains he is now down to 1 vacation home. Hmmm. Does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?

Open4 beer...I'd be afraid the can of beer would be painted with lead paint!

You are too funny!

How can you say American companies are not dedicated to service? Call any of them, and you will be participating in the most state-of-the-art telephone menuing systems ever devised. They are more than happy to resolve your problem once you have selected the appropriate menu options, punched in your account number, social security number, and waited on hold for a reasonable number of hours for someone to come on the line and tell you that you dialed the wrong number in the first place.

I can tell you for a fact that the phone companies and cable companies are very efficient, and will always get right to you immediately to schedule a technician to come out during a four to six hour window two weeks from now. How much more do you want? Should they bring beer, or something?

So long as corporate America can hide from customers looking for service by hiding behind voice mail or call centers where they keep you waiting forever the who cares about quality. For the past several decades they have been training us to be patient and listen to music while telling us how important we are and not to hang up because we'll lose our place in line only to be finally picked up by some yoyo in India or some third world country who speaks English that is hard to understand who takes a lot of information and then passes us to the right department where we go on hold again.

What Quality are you talking about?????
Who cares?????
This is America.
We just go around the world spreading our dream.

They were probably taking the advice of a consulting firm that was hired to lead their "restructuring." The layoffs won't end there. They never do. If you work there, start sending out resumes now.

And loss of service is right up there with loss of quality.
