Freedom of speech doesn't give you the right to slander or libel someone. So yes it is possible to be sued for calling someone a pedophile or child molester.

How many times have people called him a child molester?
Why don't you call the police, if that's what you think he is, instead of worrying about your legal right to call people names? Freedom of speech doesn't apply here. If you have a legitimate case, call the cops. If you don't, keep your mouth shut.

It starts with the truth that you can sue anyone for anything. Winning your suit is another matter completely.
There is freedom of speech, but saying harmful things about someone without proof is liable.

You cannot be sued for saying something you have a reasonable reason to believe (such as him making inappropriate sexual posts about children).
Also, you would have to do it by name, since chat rooms have private IDs. For that matter, how would they find out your name?
Also, suing anybody for what they said online would be pretty hard given the size of the internet. Call them the way you see them!

Well there is athing called deflamation of character. That being said, if the accusations are not true, but may imply that the person is or is doing something that they are not, then yes, he/she has the right to pursue it in a court of law.
