I live in Texas and these non-native non-endangered Mediterranean Geckos have made havoc for me and my friends. One of them got in the wiring of my house and started a small fire that almost burnt down my house. A friend of mines two year old daughter was playing with one (not a pet, a wild one) that was in her house and she put it in her mouth the parents after realizing what happened removed the gecko, afterwards she got salmonella and was hospitalized for over a week ... she nearly died.
I know people love these animals, but just like squirrels, rats, and snakes these animals are a pest for homeowners. On yahoo answers so far all I have heard is how beneficial these lizards are for eating bugs; however they are small and only eat a few bugs a day, and I can kill more bugs with pesticides. I am not going sit idly by while these pest destroying my house and endanger children. I need real help!
Thanks in advance
