I have read loads of questions and answers on this site that i didnt know. Like pre-*** which i had never heard of before and we dont learn anything like blow jobs and hand jobs. we spend like 5 mins on actual sex and the rest on like periods and spots. Is there anything i should know which we are not taught. I am nearly 15 btw. Also because we dont learn this many people get pregnant at young ages and do all sorts of things that we dont know will have an affect . Like if a guy mastibates can a girl then get pregnant.

I'm answering questions as fast as I can, cut me some slack! :-)

But seriously, you're 100% right. What kids are NOT being taught is really horrifying to me. One reason I come here is that I had to learn all this stuff the hard way in the 1980s and sex ed has gotten EVEN WORSE in the past 20 years.

Free internet porn is not a replacement for real information, any more than GRAND THEFT AUTO III replaced drivers ed. (Hey, that's a pretty good slogan...)

hmm OK there is the best way by speaking to your parents if your a boy then your dad would most likely be a good one for that if your a girl then i would hope that your mom will teach you all that she knows and answers all your questions with the right things.
but there is a few web sights that deal with teen sex and what is the truth and so one i do not have any I'm my book marks sorry but google or yahoo them and you should get something there...
and also a doctor is a good source of information on safe sex and i think at your age he/she can talk to you and have to keep it from your parents if you wont it to be

Well I guess they think by teaching you that stuff they'll be encouraging you to try it out, whereas half the point of sex ed is to put you off until you are at an age they consider responsible.
If a guy has *** on his fingers and then fingers a girl, then yes she can get pregnant.

You SHOUDLNT be taught about hand jobs and blow jobs in sex ed. You SHOUDL however know a whoel lot more abotu sex than IS taught. That however is the responsibility of your parents, and not even reallyt eh schools. That si why so many DON'T know. The ball is passed from one to another and noone picks it up. Try researchign on the internet, its not difficult. At the same time, though, I wonder if the teachers teachign it really know much more. When my now 13 year old went through it, she taught THEM a few facts and was told to stop because it was too much information that they werent sure the other parents wanted their children to know..HELLO?!?!?! She was talkgin abotu teh mechanics of sex and pregnancy only.

I agree. Sex ed sux, it is clearly behind the line, and they dont teach you half the important stuff, like about protection, pregnency, abortions, where u should go, about positions or techniques, and boys in my school didn't know a prostate from a clitoris, and couldn't find it if they tried, but then again, if the told you to much, there'd be no fun working it all out.

P.S.-- Prostate is i a guys ***, and it feels good if you touch it, which i guess is why gays have anal sex, the clitoris is like a girls equivalent, just above her ***...

sexual education is all about the act of intercourse and biology. It is a methodical look at sex as part of human nature. Handjobs and blowjo* are not part of this. When you are younger they are trying to teach you about sex as part of reproduction. It should not be treated as an overall guide to all things about sex. It only really covers a little part.

I do agree there is a lot of confusion with young people. Some of the Q&A I have read from teenagers about sex do make my chuckle.

I guess some things you learn by yourself. I think parents need to be more open and educational to their children as well.

Those are EXCELLENT points you've raised!! I never really thought of why it's called "sex ed" if you really don't learn much. You learn about puberty, and how babys are made, but it doesn't answer the kind of questions that you find on here on a daily basis. I suppose that could be an answer to why there is a fair amount of teenage pregnancy.

Thanks for making me think! :)

I'm 16 and have a sex ed class every two weeks since year 7 up to year 11 and am sick to death of it! i know that it should help, but i can't see what it really does. As far as i know people in my year use them as knew ideas. But i now know every tiny detail is that good for some teens though?

first its masturbates and if you put your penis in a girl at all there is the possibility of her getting pregnant the precum is enough to inpregnate the only way to be safe is to use a condom with spermicide pregnancy is not your only concern ther are so many stds out there that it is scary you should really go to the library and look up some stuff to educate you further the truth if you are not ready to have children ther plenty of other stuff other than intercourse oral sex is always and option so is touching and caressing

hmm, I don't know. My school was like that. I think it's because it's not so comprehensive in junior high. This might be something you could ask your school board meeting or teachers about and tell them about the things you learned on the internet that wasn't taught in your class. I don't know, but I didn't learn about pre-com either till college! Gee, people are so advanced now!...or maybe late high school.
