My little sister is 13 and is in the hospital. Last night she broke her tibia and ankle bone and crushed her growth plate. Due to the pain, she can't sleep. She has nothing to do! I'm going to the hospital in a few minutes and was wondering of things I should bring her or print outs off the internet that would give her something to do. She has to have surgery tonight, and will be in the hospital for a few more days. Please pray for her.

I will definitely keep your sister in my thoughts. As for what you can take her:

1.) Coloring books and crayons
2.) Portable cd player or IPOD/MP3 player
3.) Hand held games
4.) Portable DVD player or laptop if you have one
5.) Books and magazines

Hope this helps. Good Luck to your sister. :-)

When my best friend was in the hospital with cancer I brought her a portable DVD player and headphones and the box set of some t.v. shows like Grey's Anatomy, Sex in the City etc. SO maybe some t.v. shows that are a Little more age appropriate ( Like Joan of Arcadia or something like that ) but you get the idea. You can find tons of t.v. show series at Best Buy or Target or even Walmart It works great. I know when I have been hospitalized late at night is the worst, there's nothing on t.v and you are supposed to be quiet ( hence the headphones ) so she doesn't disturb anyone else.
If she is up to reading get her Twillight by Stephanie Meyer ( it's a book ) if she hasn't read it yet she will love it, it's prfect for her age...

I'll do that, Blair. That break even sounds painful!

Have you considered bringing her a book to read, perhaps? There are some great old classics. Or perhaps she would like Harry Potter, if you have one of those.

Just a couple of nights ago, I ran a google search for some images for a friend of mine. Perhaps you can do something similar: You know better than I what your sister likes.

Or you could even sit beside her and read to her, if she doesn't feel up to reading herself. That was a lot of comfort to me when I was pretty badly hurt.

Best of luck to your sister!

My heart goes out to u & ur little sis! You can bring her an origami kit or some cool colored thread to make bracelets. A craft like that can distract her and she'l be able to make some cool stuff! Best wishes!

all these suggestions are really good. id say music, crosswords, books, things like that. if you have a portable dvd player take some movies cuz if you're in pain at least you can be distracted a little.

iPod, CD player, radio... Some sort of reading material... Probably some art stuff such as paper, markers, etc. It really depends on what she likes.
Sure thing! Hope she gets well.
