A couple of my fav's were, and actually still are;
Tygers of Pan Tang (1st two albums)
Saxon (1st 3 albums, their 1st is their best)
Witchfinder General
Iron Maiden
Diamond Head
Split Beaver
Samson
Angel Witch
Tank
And of course Judas Priest, but they were around long before the NWoBHM began.
I'm in my 50's, and I never get tired of this stuff!

Maiden , Saxon, and Tygers. Lot of people don't know that John Sykes came from Tygers of Pan Tang, and they should really hear that stuff!

Shouldn't it be NWOBHM? Unless you're just talking about heavy metal in the 80's in general...

Well, sticking to British bands starting somewhere around the 80's, my favorite would be Iron Maiden. They're the epitome of the NWOBHM era. With their high pitched vocals, exceptional guitar skills, and overall melody and sound, I gotta say they deserve to be one of the most renowned bands of the 80's.

If you mean NWoBHM, then I admittedly have the bias for Iron Maiden. But I also love Def Leppard too (yes, they were part of that scene -- listen to their first album, "On Through the Night" and the follow-up "High n' Dry").

Motorhead, hands down. When Lemmy belts out "Ace of Spades" it's time for slam dancers to take over the floor.

My favorite was Tank & their "Filth Hounds of Hades, "Power of the Hunter" & "This Means War" albums in the early 80's
