try getting a spot cleaner. go to target or something and buy one. The Oxiclean carpet spot cleaner is very good. but it works much better when used right away. get it asap and use it asap.

Try white vinegar and if that doesn't work try some ammonia. I would test it in an inconspicuous spot, such as inside a closet to make sure the color of carpet doesn't change. I've use both of these for dog stains, carpet steaming, spills, etc.

If you can't find help, last option is to cut out the piece and replace it with a piece from the closet or see if you can get a sample from a carpet store and then go from there. That's why I always keep a spare yard or so when they lay new carpet...you just never know.

OK - but gotta be brave here! Get some Oxy - the stuff you put into washing powder - and a bottle of Ace bleach (this doesn't remove colour!).. Add about three scoops of Oxy to a bowl of warm water along with a good sloosh of the Ace - and mix well. Pour slowly onto stain - until its quite wet then using your fingers rub the carpet well from the outside of the stain inwards. If possible, use a carpet shampooer to remove the left over water - just use plain water in the tank. Worked for my foul cream almost white stair carpet - looks like new now!

Woolite Oxy Deep. I had a set-in coffee stain on my light blue carpet. I cleaned it immediately after it spilled, it still left a shadow of the stain. I scrubbed it with every product I had and even used a steam cleaner on it. I used the steam cleaner with sprays and tried it 3 separate times. The other day I picked up the Woolite and it immediately, first time around took out the stain. 100% !!! (and this stain is now over 2 months old!) Go pick up the Woolite Oxy Deep and then go pick up your ten spot from your uncle (He'll owe you $4. for the Woolite!)

Tough one...

Okay, listen:

first of all, try with lukewarm water. Then rub the stain with glycerine. Leave the glycerine on it for half an hour. Then wash it out.

If that is not successful, you can try hydrogen peroxide. But be careful! You might try it first on a hidden spot just to see how the fiber of the carpet reacts.

Good Luck

Get some carpet cleaning concentrate, mix as per instructions. Add 20% ammonia, scrub the carpet, then rinse with a wet vacuum cleaner. NEVER, EVER use washing powders/washing up liquids or glycerine on a carpet, it will leave a sticky film, which will make carpet attract dirt. (Fairy Liquid Advert......"its kind to hands that do dishes tra la....".. cos its got glycerine in it)

Here is how to clean unknown and Greasy spots.

apply Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol to a clean white cloth or paper towel. blot until spot is removed or until no color transfers to the towel. do not allow rubbing to come in contact with the backing of your carpet, it can break down the latex and cause your carpet to delaminate. also, never scrub at a carpet stain always blot or rub in one direction at a time.

PS never use anything to clean your carpet unless you know it will not void the manufacturers warranty. the method described above is a manufacturers recommendation
