If you miss the vib then you get a ring to alert you. I pick up my phone on vibrate if I am in a setting where it would disturb other people.

There's nothing like a cellphone vibrating in your pants to alert you to a call. Vibrate then ring is used when a ring alone might be inappropriate and the user has chance to answer the call (or reject it) before the ringing starts

I like it because I can usually feel the vibration of the phone in my bag before it starts ringing, so then if I can't take the call I can silence it before it disturbs those around me. If I don't feel the vibration, then I hear the ring so I can still get the call.

Because the phone will vibrate once which gives it a chance to be answered before it is heard. but if you don't answer it then it rings in case you for example put it on the seat next to you or your desk this way you wont miss a call

I usually use that feature when Im somewhere kinda noisy, that way if I happen to not hear the ringer, then maybe I can catch it off the vibration. I guess I have an extra shot at catching the phone call...

Vibrate does not disturb other people.
Especially in places where phones
should be silenced. And if it's an
emergency, you can still get the call
because you have it on vibrate and not
on off.

If you are in a meeting or class it will vibrate and give you time to shut it off or go in the hall. If you left it in the other room and can't hear it viberate then eventually it will ring.

vibrate is nice because you know its ringing but other people don't. That's good in a meeting or in class.

an advantage would be that if you feel it vibrating and arent too sure that it rung and you ignore it...it will ring LOUD right after it vibrates.

if you'll be in and out of situations where you can and can't have your phone on loud, then its great- if your in a meeting and forgot to put it on silent, then it vibrates and you can click hang up before it starts to ring loud. but you might not want it on silent because you might forget to turn it off and miss something important!!
