bbbbbbbbbriggs04 - The Taliban is/was mainly in Afghanistan. Al Qaeda is mainly in Iraq. Both are in both places. They are all terrorists either way.

We are still in Afghanistan, however, because Bush has pulled most of the troops out of Afghan to invade Iraq, the Taliban has had a resurgance and grown stronger.
This is like the U.S. being attacked by the Japanese at Pearl harbor, and Bush attacking Canada.
I supported the Afghan effort, because that's where the attackers of 9/11 we're stationed...not Iraq, despite the many instances of this administration trying to link the two.

This isn't a libcon issue Eddie. Karzai is the one who said that the Taliban has been defeated.

The Swamp: Despite threats, Karzai calls Taliban "defeated'
And your assertion that Al-Qaida is "mainly" in Iraq is flat out wrong. Al-Qaida is in Pakistan, Afghanistan and although they weren't there before, they are now in Iraq.

Actually the left has not said that at all. If you had been paying attention you would know that the left has said we aren't paying as much attention to Afghanistan/Pakistan as we should and that too much has been focused on Iraq. No one said we weren't doing anything in Afghanistan.

You're confused. The left has never said we're not in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban. The RIGHT has always said that the left has said that; it doesn't mean we did.
What we said is that we should be concentrating more heavily on the country that harbored the people who planned the 9/11 attacks.
So of course that means the President decided to invade Iraq instead.

Nobody ever said we weren't in Afganistan fighting the Taliban. That is obviously true from the start and you are making it up.
Opponents of the war have said we aren't in Iraq fighting Al Qaeda, because they weren't there before the war (they are now!) FYI, Bin Laden wasnt' there either.

That's really funny.
Do you know why we are fighting the Taliban now?
Because after we kicked them out of power, we let them regroup and reform while we dicked around in Iraq.
