Well, neither is good, but it is easier to get out of it with runners at 1st and 2nd with 0 outs. If there is a runner on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out then you have to get a groundball/linedrive to the infield, a short pop-up to the outfield, or a strikeout to keep them from scoring with no chances of a double play, unless a line drive turns into 2 or something weird happens. Now, with a guy on 1st and second, it doesnt matter where the ball is hit, if it is on the ground in the infield, any player can turn the double play. If the ball is hit to the outfield, it isnt guaranteed that a run will score, thus there is more room for error. With 2nd and 3rd, it is guaranteed that at least 1 will score. And unless it is hit short, many times the man on 2nd score too.
But thats from a defensive standpoint.

Generally speaking, runners on 2nd and 3rd would be preferred, even with 1 out. A deep fly ball will most likely score one runner, whereas, a fly ball would have to be hit to right field in order to assure that one runner will advance if they were on 1st and 2nd - and even then there are runners on the corners with 1 out and the double play is still intact.
Runners on 1st and 2nd leaves the possibility of a double play intact. For example, runners on 2nd and 3rd and a groundball to the right side will generally score a run (as long as the infield isn't playing in). But a ground ball to either side with runners on 1st and 2nd, will lead to a double play and a runner on 3rd with 2 outs.

Its about the same.In both cases there's at least 1 runner in scoring position. But most would probably say runners on 2nd and 3rd ,so a fly out would bring in a run ,but it also depends on the score ,especially if its a 1 run game.

Defensively the ideal is runners on 1st and 2nd no outs. (force outs, double plays) So I would say better scoring opportunity with option 2.

i can't give you stats but i can tell that 2 and 3rd with one out is better b/c you two men in scoring position where a ball hit in the gap will score two or if it s a pop up to deep any field will score one and for if it's 1st and 2nd w/ one out a gapper only will score one (most likely) and a pop out will only advance the runners one base

2nd and 3rd would be better cause a base hit scores 2, instead of one.. and a fly ball scores one... with runners on first and second.. you could just sacrfice bunt to get the runners into option 2... but i choose option 2

You would want 2nd and 3rd with one out because that would take away the opportunity of a double play.

it really depends whos hitting. but it makes more sense to say 2nd and 3rd theres less chance of a double play and a deep fly ball could score a runnner and advance the other. as for statistics i have no idea where someone could find them
