also does anyone know where i can buy a cast iron one cheap?

Any solid brick (Pressed Brick) would be fine as opposed to an extruded brick one with holes in it these are the bricks which can explode.

you can use fire bricks ..but firebricks are too small and are not designed for that use ..they are designed to line something like a fireplace or a kiln ..if its built outside then an engineering brick or a blue brick will do fine ..don't use a semi engineering brick ..it wont last as for a cheap one ..try e bay

Fire bricks are the way to go. Just check w/ your local home store.

use fire bricks (used for lining kilns) available from any good builders merchants, then line it with clay.
fire it up slow untill the clay has fired and BINGO one chimnea
