Two years ago for our wedding anniversary my husband arranged for a nostalgic trip back to the land of my Father in Listowel, Co. Limerick in Eire.
Unbeknownst to me - he had also arranged for me to swim in Dingle Bay with the resident dolphin Fergie!
For so many reasons I will never forget that trip - one of them of course was swimming with Fergie and one of the others was how COLD the water was!
But yes - it was magical and I can say without a trace of drama - the connection between humans and this wonderful creature was absolutely out of this world. He isa totally wild dolphin who chooses to be with people - he comes and he goes - but they say that he stays because many years ago his female mate died on the shores of the bay and he has returned ever since - as though not wanting to leave without her.
If ever you get the chance - sieze it - you will never be the same again!!

I have done that in the ocean. We used to have a get away in Carlsbad Ca. N. west of down town San Diego, We were right across the street from the ocean. Me, my husband,
and sons swam almost every day, dolphins swam all around us whistleing and playing with each other. They could be a real nuisance for the surfers and boogy boarders. I don't know how anyone can eat dolphin. To us that would be like eating your best friend(dog)or kitty. My daughter would not swim in the ocean even tho she was a good swimmer.
You would love it, I believe.

I would love to...
Do you read Anne McCaffrey, Lady G?
In her Dragonworld series, there is a separate book called "The Dolphins of Pern" which is all about man and dolphins working together to make life better on a new world. If you like science fiction/fantasy at all, you would love those books.

A few years ago..I just thought, it must have been in the mid 1980's..., south of Virginia Beach almost to the N.C. line, I was pretty much alone in the area and was body surfing....al fresco...and all of a sudden I was surrounded by dolphins...bottle nosed. A couple brushed up against me and circled me. Then about 6 joined me riding some waves. Just as soon as they came, they were gone.

Yes dolphins are cool, sometimes they can be aggressive but if you aware of that it should be fine.
My friends dives with sharks, they're just itty bitty guys, no great white, about the size of a dog. I think he just did it because I said I was going to - or wanted to - my problem is fear of being under water so diving would need some working up to

Not right now...I have it from a very reliable source that porpoise are very angry with humans for thier treatment of their brothers and sisters by tuna fishermen who net them and leave them to die....the porpoise are out to get us big time! I am sure I read about this in the National Enquirer..and if it is printed there, you know it is true. The story appeared right next to the article about the woman who was abducted by aliens, sent to Mars and impregnanted, then returned to Earth ! We all know that has to be true!

I have issues with "swimming with the fish". I get paranoid when Guido asks me that.
