No, unless you consider the fact that for to long we felt safe and secure on our own soil a gov't issue.

I just don't see anyone in the gov't keeping a secret like that. Sorry, but someone somewhere would have talked.

I have looked at many conspiracy websites and think to myself, but there were easier ways with less devastation to life, economy, etc. Just doesn't make sense to me.

as far as the conspiracy theories.... No it's not possible. Do you have any idea how difficult it would have been to orchestrate 9/11 and make it look like it was done by terrorists? Look at all the failures in Iraq and tell me you think this govt is capable of what it would've taken to do that.

But if being involved you mean had every oppurtunity to stomp out the groups of people that commited the act and didn't take any of them then yes they were involved and are still involved today. Pretty much all of the terrorists who hijacked the planes were Saudi's and we keep giving there country more money to protect our oil interests while starting wars with their Iraqi neighbors claiming that we're stomping out terrorism there when really we're just protecting oil interests.

the problems with the 911 conspiracy is that often, it is many many years into the future before certain records can be located. In the case of the redman brothers, and FDR, we have serious documentation that they knew of the attack coming on Pearl Harbour. Not a conspiracy, what is called a consensus if you know the difference.

allowing certain things to happen, and orchestration of the events are not exactly the same thing. If the government knows an event is going to happen and does not stop it, does it make it a conspiracy or something else.

While I believe that a unique number of government people knew the attack was coming, and may even have known the target, i do not believe they created the attack or participated beyond doing nothing.

does that make our government corrupt....no it was already that way, it is just expressing the degree of corruption there.

while people are going to point to websites that claim to expose the conspiracy, or claim to prove otherwise. the fact it that in our society today, we can fabricate "evidence" that does stand scrutiny...making it more difficult to come to the truth.

Well, I believe that the government did NOT have a role in the 9/11 attacks, but they did not handle the situation well.

Many of the conspiracy theories are fueled by a lack of sufficient information, for as Sherlock Holmes once said, "Once you rule out the impossible, all that is improbable is a possibility." (note that this quote is not exact, but the meaning is the same)

And thus, all the other possibilites are considered.

I for one, will not post any "proof" for my beliefs, as I believe all "proof" coming from the average joe is bullcrap, unless backed by scientific evidence or a PHD, which, many do not possess.

Yeah that's it! He wanted to get reelected so badly that he decided that he would crash 4 commercial flights, and make 3 of them crash in to 3 different buildings full fo people...No wait!...He is actuall Al-Quieda! There is absolulely no proof, because if there was he would have been questioned. If there was a suspicion, then I am almost sure that the press would hve found out about it and spilled the beans.

If this question was a joke, then it wasn't very funny! If you are being sarcastic, then I am deeply sorry for my snippy answer.

i prefer the term allowed to happen. just like OKC with mcpuke and his muslim co-conspirators. the FBI had plants in the white trash compound and never followed up on the threats of mcpuke and his muslim friends.

as recently reported by the IG, the CIA knew of most of the suspects pre-9/11 and did nothing. the clinton admin didn't help either as the deputy atty general, jamie gorelick, a 9/11 "Commission" appointee no less in that whitewash joke of a report, anyway, she blocked the CIA and FBI from sharing information which MAY have prevented the attacks. just like clinton had 8 years to follow up on the first WTC attack in '93. his agencies did nothing. those same agencies and all their morons were in place when bush took over. you don't take over a job for 8 months then magically take 100% control of every aspect of the giant that is our federal government and various agencies, especially covert and investigative agencies like the CIA and FBI. Both full of corrupt lawyers and morons who have their own agendas.

did the guv actually do it? nope. don't believe that.

I think the conspiracy idea is a joke. For one thing, it implies that the Bush administration is smart enough to plan this successfully. Yet, looking at the administration's record, it is clear they don't have the where-with-all to plan something this complex.

I have also read the articles in the Skeptics magazine, which pretty definitively shows the conspiracy theory is bunk.

It did have something to do with 9/11, it happened and they responded. It happened on their watch, they are tasked with preventing such things and they failed. Proof? It happened, no more proof needed.

Anything is possible. Hitler & his actions were possible. Many outrageous things throughout history were possible. but....9/11 is impossible to prove unless at least one of the parties involved confesses, and even then....would he be around to testify?

Absolutely. They ignored the signs that it was going to occur through bureaucratic bungling.
