all I can say is....things happen...we let our guard down and hence let someone attack...but if you think back to pearl harbor, it was the same thing...you just never know. I think the government dealt with it as best they could. If too much info is let out into society, people would panic, if too little info is given, people get suspicious. what could you do? or better....what would you do?

In my opinion if GWB had NOT spent time restructuring government orginization's that were already in place we may have been able to prevent the 911 attack. The blame was put on OBL for 911 yet the main focus of terrorism has shifted to iraq. Initially the response to stop al-quieda was justified but the follow through and invasion of iraq has given them a failing grade. Iraq has now become a breeding ground for terrorists and proof the GWB admin has dealt with the issue very poorly.

Another example is the restructuring of the FEMA. New Orleans has suffered greatly from this blunder. Anybody remember the FEMA report about the money being squandred.

911 and FEMA are proof that GWB's new restructuring was a failure and needs to be changed immediatly.

9/11 showed how completely incompetent the Bush and Giuliani administrations were...

- The Bush Admin. was so focused on their own plans and hated the Clinton administration so much that they ignored warnings about possible terrorist actives because the info came from Clinton appointees.

- Giuliani refused to institute recommendations given to him after the Trade Center bombings that would have saved many lives. For example, he refused to move the NY disaster office out of downtown NY, and he insisted it be situated in the Trade Center, it was destroyed in the attack making coordination even harder. (Note, all Fire and Police organizations have refused to endorse Giuliani for president for this reason). What is more, the Trade Center site continues to be a hole in the ground mostly because the Giuliani appointees given the job to rebuild are a bunch of corrupt idiots.

- I find the Bush Administration use of 9/11 as a justification for all of their actions (Iraq, torture, tax cuts, etc) offensive. They have no shame.

Finally, I think the conspiracy idea is a joke. For one thing, it implies that the Bush administration is smart enough to plan this successfully. Yet, looking at the administration's record, it is clear they don't have the where-with-all to plan this.

I think they showed gross incompetence by not being prepared - their main responsibility is to provide for the common defense. The 9/11 Commission was kind and called it a failure of imagination.

They tend to close the barn door after the horse gets out, but in this case the borders are still wide open.

I think 9/11 was quite a disaster.

I think our government, and particularly the adminisration has used the disaster toward its political goals.

It's the idea of "disaster capitalism." When something horrible happens, it's sensationalized and becomes a main point of disagreement between political parties.

The government actually practices terrorism on its own people. Remember terrorism is not necessarily violent. It is any use of fear-inducing tactics in order to cause a certain reaction among the masses. Remember all the scary terror threats post 9/11? "Terrorists have guns built into their pens, bombs in their shoes, and are about to strike on specific days..."? That's terrorism carried out by our government on its own people. It's completely fabricated in order for the masses to respond accordingly so that an economic and/or political objective can be met. For example, rallying the public in support of a war.

No matter how TWC happened or who may have done that terrible deed, our government has stopped dealing with it. That is the truth and those that were killed were probably thought of as "expendable" victims. What the citizens must do is demand responsible government and each and every victim deserves payment for a wrongful death. Why would a government deny those families what is rightfully theirs?

I think it was a terrible act of hatred against a people who wanted to punish the US. For what? Only they can tell you. I think we were right to go to the middle east to search out some of the more dangerous terrorists, but true peace can only be achieved by a major reformation of the current foreign policy. It will not be an overnight thing. It may take decades or even longer.

9/11 was unprecedented in its scope and destruction, and our government was therefore clearly unprepared to deal with the situation as effectively as could have been hoped. The government's response was somewhat hasty and inadequate - overreacting in some areas, too slow and naive in others. But, personally, I feel most of the government did the best job it could.

Your question is a little vague, you might want to be more specific if you want more useful answers.

I think overall our government has done a great job. It has not been easy, and I think that any other government would have had problems and mistakes just like this one had. But, so far we have had no other attack and that we owe it to Mr. Bush. Love him or not, he has been strong on this war against the people that hate America and that want to destroy us.

I say that 9/11 was in plan within our goverment. The goverment is trying to keep us in check with our country. And when in all comes down to it. Its all about the money baby. The thing that suprizes me is that nobody ever says anything. The goverment does bad things right in front of our eyes and we just stay quiet. Is it FEAR? If it is the goverment is doing a good job. SPEAK UP PEOPLE WE HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DO IT!!!!!
