Mr. Bush,

I would like to know what it cost for you to come to Bellevue WA for the sole purpose of raising money for a Congressman. You did raise ½ Mil. That's impressive.

Now let’s look at what it cost.
Air Force 1. $60-70K
Security. Local and otherwise. $150K
The public’s time; holding the people up during rush hour. $50K
The pollution(making us sit in traffic for that extra time)

In dollars that's about $260,000. I would also wonder how much of our tax payers money you wasted by making a personal visit and not doing anything that helped this Country prosper. I didn't hear about you doing anything to bring our men and women in uniform home.

Please tell me how you justify spending so much tax payer money just to say give another citizen money?

Thank you for your time.

Nice of you to announce yourself like that.

I was stuck on a bus. I don't think he would have liked me turning off his bus.

I know he doesn't but it made me feel better writing this and see how many people agreed with me.

Thank you all for your time,

When you put it all next to the 9 trillion dollar deficit He has run up, it looks like chump change to this multimillionaire and he thinks it doesn't matter

Please be joking.

OK, you seem to be serious about this so I will give you a more serious answer:
1. You did not show a source for the dollar figures you quote. Some of them do not appear to be realistic.
2. Presidential security is also somewhat of a fixed cost as he has security 24 hours a day every day.
3. Many of the costs you cite are required for a president to travel regardless of the intent of his travel. It would be improper to restrict the president from personal travel simply because of the additional cost associated with security regulations he did not create.

I have driven in Bellevue, WA many times (used to work in Redmond) and traffic is always heavy. Hard to blame that all on presidential travel when I routinely sat stuck on 520 without the president here.

Not the Washington Bellevue, the New York one.

You would have to add quite a few additional zero's onto the total! It's more like 20 million just for the president to visit for an hour or more! He doesn't give a damn how much it cost the taxpayers, but he's their favorite conservative, so go figure!

He has just about burnt The Air Force One up , he takes it even to pick up his Mother in law , he is just about the sorriest piece of humanity besides Cheney that ever existed, He can't go help his buddies with campaign money, people don't want him and his little speech. That Bantam Rooster needs to go
and hide out in the outhouse with the rest of the turd*

Interesting if you can prove the amounts you say were spent or wasted that would be fabulous. You might want to pursue this further and release the figures to the media. They would have a feeding frenzy over this stuff. That would be great!

ALL politicians do that crap - not just Bush. They've all got huge expense accounts, large staffs, etc. and they just fly around on our dime. It doesn't matter if they're democrat or republican. Until we demand that ALL of them stop with the idiocy, we get what we deserve.

It's the best letter to the chimp I have seen in quite awhile! If the voters don't stop "party politics" and how they vote, they do get what they deserve. The only option here is RESEARCH, RESEARCH AND MORE RESEARCH. It has to be done for EVERY candidate that wants to get into public office.

LMAO! Are you kidding me? Did you turn off your engine while you were sitting in that traffic? If not, you can't count the pollution. $260,000.00 is just a fraction of what we spend a year on welfare, medicare, food stamps, government paid child care, public housing, etc. ALL of our taxes aren't going to the war.

Dear Sports Fan, I is the president and the decider and that's what I decided. And I can count on my supporters to support me and to smear the liberal candidates for doing the exact same thing. Dubya
