I feel like I literally just hit a brick wall and can NOT keep my eyes open. It was nearly 3.5 hours ago that I drank the stuff, and now I am experiencing one hell of a crash. I don't remember this happening the first time with my daughter. But that was also 5 years ago. Is this normal? At least for some people or some pregnancies? Ugh. THIS SUCKS!

I guess I should also note that I did supposedly have GD with my first, but I never believed it as my numbers were never once above where they were supposed to be when I tested myself three times a day.

That test totally wiped me out.It happens from the high sugar content in your body along with the fact that you have to fast for it and that makes you extremely weak as well. After I took the test I felt the same way,I was very shaky and felt like I was gonna pass out.I also had to take the 3hr test cuz my first result with the 1 hr test came back high.with the 3 hr test,The 3rd blood draw, my glucose level was only 50 which is pretty low especially being pregnant that explained why I was feeling shaky and dizzy!! You will feel better tomorrow, drink plenty of water to flush that nasty stuff out of your system.Good luck!!Congrats on the baby.

I took the test last week. I took it first thing in the morning since I had to fast all night. I remember feeling a little dizzy after guzzling the whole bottle of glucose and they made me sit down. I also remember feeling really tired in the afternoon like I had been beat up. I wasn't sure though if it was because of the glucose or if it was because I had like 10 viles of blood taken.
Not to worry though, you feel better soon. It doesn't last long and I remember the next day I was absolutely fine.

I took the regular glucose test, and after a while, I got a headache and completely crashed. I thought I was dying. I had to lay down and close my eyes, but I couldn't sleep. Then after a while, my body kicked in and started using other sources for the glucose and my numbers started coming back up again.

This happened to me with my last test-I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I remember almost passing out from the stuff shortly after I drank it and similar symptoms you are having now, later. Don't freak out thinking you have GD! It's your body reacting to the glucola-you need to eat something and take a nap if possible. Good luck. Congrats!

I felt very nauseatd the first half hour after taking it and then a few hours later i needed a nap becasue your body does crash after an emense amount of sugar like that! Dependingon h ow bad of a crash you have could indicate that your sugar levels might be a little irregular and the results might come back high!
GOODLUCK

If this is the full scale glucose tolerance test, where your sugar is measured every hour and you had to drink an entire cup of extremely sweet glucose solution...then yes, i certainly had a 'crash' too. I did not have gestational diabetes, but this is still a normal reaction to the test. It would not hurt to give a quick call to your obgyn to confirm all of your symptoms, but I think it is normal.

My doctor said there is only as much sugar in that orange drink that there is in 10 jellybeans... You just might have Gestational Diabetes with this pregnancy...
