Sky and Telescope reports (September issue) that the intermittent Aurigid meteors may make an appearance this September 1. The peak of the shower is predicted for 11:37 UT (4:37 PDT), plus or minus 20 minutes, and the shower lasts only about an hour. This timing favors the west coast of the US. The last Aurigid outburst was in 1994.
