Personally I think that the Animals are better than the Beatles and the Stones and I believe that those two are so overrated. I was just wondering what the rest of the world thought.

Eric Burdon and The Animals 4ever!

I should say that I don't underestimate the importance or greatness of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. I would just like to believe that a hundred years from now they won't be the only bands that are remembered from all the greats that came with them. It also slipped my mind that The Who was part of that movement and I also believe that they have more artistry than The Beatles and the Rolling Stones as well.

hey I'm just a fool whose intentions are good, oh Lord please dont let me be misunderstood. Having said that, I must say that you arent giving the Beatles their due credit. You simply
qualified your question with your opinion. Yes the Animals were a great band. I dont think anyone will argue that point but in terms of US popularity, commercial success, charisma, personality, influence and lets face it, just being damned good at their craft, the Beatles take the honor(even after lennon's remark about being more popular than Christ). what I found interesting was the number of British Groups who mimicked the Beatles. Here are my top 10 British Bands of the British invasion 1- the Beatles
2.The rolling stones
3. the who
4 the Moody Blues
5 the animals
8the Zombies
9hermans hermits
10 Manfred Mann\
and I cant believe I left out the Kinks

From a musical (technical) standpoint, I'd say it was The Who. All four men were very talented players.

From an influential standpoint, as well as longevity, it's almost impossible to argue against the Beatles OR the Stones.
