No that won't happen.

That means a revolution.Turkey made a revolution 85 years ago just in the opposite direction. Becoming a democratic secular state.

Besides there are two factors required in order to change the system. Public rebellion + army support.
Army in Turkey is the biggest supporter of the secular state. Besides, the people in Turkey don't want to be like Iran, even most of the AKP voters.
But USA and EU are making a big strategical mistake by pushing Turkey away.

No they will not. Western European nations have had issues dealing with Islamic radicals within their own boundaries. There would be a huge outcry if the Turkish gov't were to institute any presumed "Islamist" agenda. If there is any hint of an Islamist turn in Erdogan's administration, then Turkey would kiss any chance of EU membership goodbye.

Also, the stringently secular military would never allow this to even happen. Even if it meant bypassing democratic procedures, the military will forcefully prevent such an Islamist gov't from forming. It should also be noted that an imposition of Islamic rule would strain relations with the US. Gul and Erdogan are not that foolish.

Its not that easy to change the whole system because maybe they are not in the picture right now, there are many many Ataturk lovers in Turkey. Falling back to Islamic rule is not that easy, they are scared too. Its not like Turkey is going to like Iran, it can never be, but im sure the number of women who are covered will increase because they give money to them to get covered and since there are many poor people, what they are doing is working and its why they won the elections... But dont worry we have the Army and all other SMART people in Turkey. People in there are actually really smart so....

I hope not. Before 1979, Iran was the most developed and modernized country in the Middle East. After Komeni, it was reverted to a Medieval-like enviornment. I'd hate to see the same thing happen to a great country like Turkey.

now, in Turkey, Turkish Army Forces did not invite Gül's wife for national victory day festival. I think , there will be clash between Army and president at the future. Secular system is in danger !

I strongly suspect the Army would suspend the government if they tried to move to Islamic law. Ataturk specifically charged the Army with protecting the people in exactly this fashion and I do not think either of the politicians you mention has forgotten this.

i don't think so. That's what the Turkish Army is afraid of but that won't happen. They have been in charge for a while now and nothing happened.

It is fair also to notice that the situation in Turkey is not fair. if you are woman who wears scarf you are not allowed to go to school or college, you are not allowed no get into governmental buildings, not allowed to work for the government. I don't think that's freedom of religious practices.

No, they will be welcomed to already Islamized EUSSR.

Their primary contact is Bernard Kushner, the French foreign minister, long-time Islamist sympathizer and, coincidentally, a Jew.

our people always follow Ataturks rules and that's protected by our Great Army and army is supported by our people.....islamists will not get a chance if they are fool to do that, they will be taken to where they originally come from :D

Turks are a strong nation, we know we will never be Islamic and will remain secularist forever..
