Wow, I can't believe someone said yes. (Remind me not to let her babysit.)
I would not harm my child for any cause or Deity. I would renounce any god that required it.
Speaking in terms of the Christian God, Ronin has made an excellent point above. In addition to that, I believe Jesus said "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's" when his followers wanted to stop paying taxes. It follows then, that God wants his followers to obey the laws of humanity. After all, how does paying taxes improve one's spirituality?
So to the blind followers of the world, good luck with your whole "god told me to do it" defense. I'll be watching your trial on television.
Whether god exists or not, Man answers to Man.

Sorry, but I reject the initial assumption of your question, namely that a god exists. You're right in that each religion has its own god that it worships. Some people will claim that it's all really the same God, but if that's so, then why the need for different religions? Each religion, and each denomination of each religion, believes in a different god with different qualities, morals, and characteristics. Whether they call it by the same name is irrelevant.
So, I have a question for you: is believing in no god, really any worse than believing in the "wrong" god?
I guess each person would have to ask his/her personal god whether the punishment for atheism was better, worse, or no different than the punishment for believing in the "wrong" god. I'm sure the answers will differ depending on "which" god is asked....

Abraham's son, Isaac, was spared. Read Judges chapter 11 to find out about the female child that wasn't spared. Why did their god spare the male and not the female? Hmmmmm?

I guess its depends on your definition of rebeling. I don't have a blind faith in any God, so killing my child would be out of the question. Then again who says this mystical god is going to be like that, maybe he just wants to hang out, have a cup a joe. You know chill.

if god asked me to kill my child, i would say no and accept the consequences.
Ironically, most stories would commend the parent for understanding a test such as "kill your child to show your love for me" and refuse to do so. Only the bible would praise a man who actually agreed to do it.
Imagine if "satan" appeared to someone in disguise and asked someone to kill their child to show their love for god. Doesn't that sound like something satan would do? And yet "god" does it and everyone is fine with it.

It depends on how I'm treated. Just like on earth, some people will die for their beliefs, I imagine that wouldn't change.

Nope, I won't rebel. And if I was asked to kill my kid, I guess I would have to.
