Are you sure that you don't REALLY mean:
exp (4/3) or exp (1/5), etc?
(You missed out typing the "p.")
Those would be instructions to exponentiate the following quantities, that is:
Perform the operation "e to the power 4/3," or "e to the power 1/5."
While exp (or EXP) is used in computer PROGRAMS, exponentiation is typed differently in computer text such as in YA! questions and answers.
Here they'd be writtten e^(4/3) or e^(1/5). (Those values are respectively ~ 3.793668... or 1.221403... .)

Is it 'ex' or is it 'exp' ?
exp(4/3) would mean: take the value called 'e' (the base of natural logs) and raise it to the power (4/3).
exp(1) = 2.718281828459045235... = e
exp(4/3) = 3.7936679...
exp(1/5) = 1.2214028...
However, if it is "ex", then we'll need more context (like, where do you see this in computer math?)

4/3 means:
4
--
3
or 4 over 3 or 4 divided by 3
The slash indicates division just as the * indicates mutiplication and the ^ indicates exponentiation.

Don't you think these look like fractions? Fraction a/b means a divided by b. Take it from there.
