I had Walmart install a new battery in my minivan - a mercury villager. The positive cable is totally loose; and the negative cable had to be hammered down to stay on. The Ford dealer just called & said both cables should be replaced because the battery terminals are shot, i.e., won't adjust. Cost to replace both terminals is $309.00. My question is this cost reasonable? Do i even need whole new cables as opposed to just replacing the battery terminals? And is Walmart culpable? Thanks.
