When I clicked "download" it immediately started a SCAN and came up with over 200 "PROBLEMS". Then it wanted me to (REGISTER NOW/OR LATER? I clicked later and a box came up wanting me to BUY NOW. I clicked cancel and now the box appears every time I turn on the laptop

If it's like mine (latest release...) that box comes up every time, and it's just their persnickety advertising. Although...I haven't seen it at LAPTOP turn on! Do you have lavasoft running all the time? I'd pull it out of the startup list if I were you, and just run a manual scan now and then...if it's not available as a Lavasoft option, then, I'd say (the way I do it...old-fashioned...) Start-->Run--->msconfig--> go find lavasoft in the startup list and uncheck it!

Seems like you downloaded the trial version. Uninstall this version from Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and download from the link below:

Adaware is not going to be offering its product for free much longer. I have read where several people are running into the same thing you have. I guess they are starting the conversion over to a paid product already.
