It is pretty common to feel like that for the nine months!
I know i did, nearly!..
Im sure you will feel movement soon, at 18 weeks baby is still tiny and movement is not allways detectable when they are that small anyway.
Stay calm, relaxed ,and eat lots of ginger nut biscuits, they're good for that pukey feeling!! (if you find yourself being unable to keep down food/or water see your G.P ASAP!)
GOOD LUCK!!!

You are completely normal - don't worry! Sickness can last all through pregnancy and everyone is different. My sister had sickness until week 26 and has 2 lovely kids. It's just pants that you have the sick feeling still! I had sickness till week 15 (currently 31 weeks) and the one thing I'm learning fast about being pregnant is everyone has different symptoms and everyone worries they are not feeling the same as the textbooks! I was anxious about movements too and every niggle was "is that the baby!" I started to feel the baby week 20 and now there's no mistaking the 4 hour on/off punch session each night! My friend hardly felt her very healthy daughter!

I can't speak from personal experience but my friend is currently 20 weeks and hasn't felt anything she can call movements for sure (although she has said she feels something like gas which can be similar to early movements!).
I have heard about morning sickness that lasts all 9 months but it isn't that common. Talk to your GP or midwife for advice as this can be a risk if you aren't able to keep any nutrients/water down.
There is an old wives tale that says prolonged morning sickness is a sign that it is a girl though.
Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I'm almost 16 weeks and still suffering...I just posted a question about this, because I'm still having to take medication every day to control the condition. I was disappointed to learn there was no "magic switch" to turn off the morning sickness at the end of the first trimester. Although it is better than it was earlier on, I still have that feeling in my throat like I'm going to gag constantly, and going off the medication makes me relapse like I was 8 weeks along again - meaning I throw up 3 or 4 times a day. I take it just to get by, and because I lost a scary 15lbs. in a month and can't afford to keep dropping pounds. Anyway, I have heard that how you respond to your first pregnancy is a general indication of how you will respond to all pregnancies...if the hormonal and physical changes make you sick the first time around it's likely to happen in a future pregnancy. However, tons of women on Y!A will tell you that's simply NOT true...lots and lots of people have varied experiences. Best I can tell you is to hang in there, you're certainly not alone. Good luck and congratulations.

I was throwing up until about week 25 or so with this kiddo, no sickness at all with my first. I think I threw up once or twice around week 34 as well. As for the movement, I was feeling pretty regular movement around week 18 - have you gone in for your u/s yet? Maybe they could schedule that sooner rather than later to check on baby and make sure he's a good size. Could be he's wiggling all over in there but on the tiny side and you can't feel it just yet.
Good luck - I hope you feel better soon!

I was sick with my first until I was 7 1/2 months, unable to keep water down at some stages! I then worked out that it was diary products that induced it. I cut them out of my diet and was not sick again! I don't suggest that you do this unless the sickness is very bad, as know you, it is important to have a balanced diet throughout your pregnancy.
As for the movements I wouldn't worry too much as the sickness feeling can mask the fluttering you might feel.

I threw up the entire nine months. Sometimes it happens that way. Most likely it will stop soon, but it doesn't always. 18 weeks is fine for not feeling any movements. Everyone is different. Depending on your baby and your body it could take a few weeks to feel any movement. If you are concerned you could ask your Dr. at your next appointment, but I don't think that you need to worry.
