I am learning to airbrush, and i need stinciles, but i want them to be my custom creation. I saw there is sticky stincles on the market that i can cut myself then stick to whatever surface i want. That's great but it is 15 bucks a pop and i figured it is just plastic and glue, if i can make it myself then that would be better. So i found marker paper that doesn't bleed, but i am still having an adhesive problem. I am looking for a spray can of adhesive that is made to be temporary so i can tack it on, do my airbrushing, then peel it off with no problems, no residue, but still with stay on long enough to get the job done... thanks guys!!

Yes, as mentioned, just look for the word "repositionable" in the description.

Even the regular spray adhesives can be used sometimes as temporary adhesives as long as you let them *dry before* sticking them to something... also, the lighter the spray, the less the permanence. I've used these sprays to hold a stencil (or other thing) temporarily and they work fine... just don't leave for a long time or you might have residue.

The repositionable sprays should work better though.

Try looking at a sewing store for Sulky KK2000. It is a spray can. The adhesive is intended for fabrics but should work fairly well on paper or fabrics. Spray it on in a light over-all layer. The item will still be removable or movable as needed. A can retails for about $13 but will last a long time.

Do you mean stencils? Yes, there is re-positionable spray glue. You should be able to get it in the craft store. I wouldn't use it though. A couple of pieces of masking tape is still the safest way to go. You'll never find a spray that leaves NO trace of adhesive.

Safe, cheap, effective and with no more effort than any other suggestion,,, Mineral Spirits. Wet a cloth, apply it to the adhesive, let soak a sec, wipe or scrape, let dry use windex after. Rev. Steven
