No longer in any special order: 1. Bruce Dickenson (Iron Maiden)- ample mentioned. 2. Maynard James Keenan (tool)- Influenced at least half of state-of-the-art singers. Three. Dan Draiman (Disturbed)- detailed sound w/ excellent variety. Stands out amongst the monotony of contemporary metal vocals. 4. Layne Stayley (Alice in Chains)- Jerry Cantrell must be included right here too, considering they made such strong and haunting harmonies. 5. Serj Tanakian (SOAD)- i admire his voice on the grounds that it is one-of-a-kind. You can inform proper away that a approach of a Down song is taking part in whilst you hear it, and he is why.

I know I won't get any reaction about this one because... well it's just how it works, but Stephen Malkmus. He's got a voice that is distinctly his, he has a really neat, schmarmy style, he doesn't even sing in key a good portion of the time, but he is just so him that it is perfect. He also has a singing style that fits his very interesting songwriting style, which is something that I think is all too rare in music in general. A total cohesive package. Unconventional and amazing.

He's not exactly synonimous with rock, but I think Paul Simon is also a singer of great quality. I love his conversational style, once again incredibly fitting of his songwriting style.
