Hip pop or Rock music ... Which one do you prefer?

so yes rap and hip hop are forms of music...some people would say rock isnt music...so id rest on the 'its not music' thing...

i prefer anything that doesnt suck, primarily rock and alt. because it is varied more, alot of rap and hip hop have the same repetitive beat in the backround, along with demeening words, so some of it i like, like commons-people and jason fox's aunt jackie...but youll find alot more rock on my ipod, props to mike shinoda (linkin park/fort minor) and run dmc/aerosmith and anyone else for fusing the two, and making them sound great together

Rock music of course and this are the reasons:
1) Rock music is forever but Hip Hop music is just popular music that is just good on his time.
2) Rock music have a lot of style but hip hop music sound always the same.
3) Rock music is about any topic hip hop is just about drugs, money and women.

oh Rock for sure, for the reason that you can listen to all types of rock and hip hop is just that... hip hop, plus you require alot more skill to play rock, not just be able to make a few rimes and they put a beat behind it... so yeah ROCK

i choose Metal to be honest...but since thats not a choice lets go with good ol' Rock :)

nothing against hip hop (or pop?) but i like technical playing. stuff thats complicated, sounds raw and unpolished but is still difficult to pull off. the most complex rap song ive heard was a bass line with E3,E5, E5 followed by three repitions of E4 (tab of course) (G,A,A,G~~~)

not my style. id rather take a complicated instrumental that you can listen to fifty times and still hear new stuff going on in the background than a spitfire rhyme that once you understand is done with....ya know?

ive got to dissagree with the person above me also.

i love rock way more than ill ever love hip hop, but its a genre of music nonetheless. you cant generalize that its ALL about sex drugs money and **** like that just like you cant generalize that metal is all about hate, satan-worship, and **** like that. thats just not true.

theres rappers out there that are completely sXe (Straight Edge: ie no sex, no drugs, no acohol, ectera.)

and there are in fact CHRISTIAN metal bands out there too (not that i like that fact but thats just a thought.)
