I always try to get there early for warmups. It's not that the warmups are particularly exciting, but being there at that time just adds to the atmosphere and anticipation.
I always enjoyed OHL warmups more, although I can't really explain why. I guess it's probably because you could just be down close to the ice and the players, more than you could at an NHL game.

Deffintely!Back in Atlanta I was always the first fan waiting at the door at the Philips Arena rear entrance. I don't know why no one else used it, since all the MARTA train riders have to walk right by it to get to the further away entrances. Now that I am in DC, I work about 3 miles from the Verizon center and can deffinetly keep up that habit. I just gotta find the rear entrance.

My g/f and I usually get there early and watch the warmups (we go to WHL games, by the way). That gives us a quick look at who's on the ice, who might still be injured, etc. In our arena, there's also usually a pre-recorded segment where one of the radio guys has compiled news of what's happening around the league. When it gets to be close to playoff time, that gets REALLY interesting.
Also (in reference to an earlier answer), it's kind of amusing to watch the puck bunnies flock around the guys who are scratches for the evening. :-) My girlfriend has a time or two gotten an autograph from one of the scratches, but since she dresses and acts like a serious fan, she doesn't get mistaken for a bunny.

I usually like to get to a Ducks game for the warmups. You can see what players are there and sometimes get an errant puck from practice or even get an autograph!
You can kind of roam in the glass area somewhat and get some nice pictures of the players. Most of the players will let you take a picture of them if you catch their eyes!
Some are even ham it up for the cameras!

I always go early for warmups because you may get to keep a puck that flies in the stands and if you are lucky you may also get an autograph from certain players. It also gives me time to find my seat, get my snacks and go to the washroom. I just love the sound of pucks hitting the glass and posts and whatnot. It gets me so excited.

All the time. I'm always there for the warm ups when I go to an NHL game or an AHL game. Never miss it.

For sure. Used to go to the Hot Stove Lounge before a game and get a good meal too. At one time it was the only way to get a beer between periods at MLG.

I get there about an hour before the game starts for several reasons, warm-ups, food, beer, entertainment, and to get to my seats and get comfy, oh and go potty before it starts!
Plus you might get to keep a puck that flies into the crowd.

Best chance to see the players, plus its the best chance to grab a puck that gets shot into the stands.
Plus you can start drinking earlier!
