It can be a song by itself that has a lot of horn instruments in it like trumpets or sax, or that sort of thing..

I love all of these bands, but I was hoping to find some rock with a little brass in the song to sing for a contest. Or maybe even an oldie, like I know Gladys Knight had some brass in her songs but I'm not sure which ones...
This could really help me out, in the meantime, I will go and check out chicago's songs and see what I can come up with...Thankx!

Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire use a lot of horns in their music. You can also hear lots of brass and woodwinds in the music of The J. Geils Band or Huey Lewis and The News. Of course, you also have artists like Harry Connick, Jr. or Brian Setzer that have an entire orchestra backing them.

Dependong on the style of music you'r looking at, their are lots of 'em!

Like said previously: pretty much anything ska as horns in it. Some of my favourite as far as brass arangements goes are Less Than Jake and Mad Caddies.

Also check out the whole Big Band revival thing: Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Squirrel Nut Zipper, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Hepcat, Royal Crown Review, and my personnal favourite: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

You also have typical "brass band": Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Maceo Parker, Dr. John, and probably 2 of the most influencial and renown: James Brown and Tower Of Power.

I'll just stop there 'cause I could go on for hours, but defenitely check out old big bands (Duke Ellington, Miles Davis type of stuff), old jazz stuff, cabaret / signer (Eartha Kitts, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr.). Not typicaly what you call a "brass band" but with some great arrangements.

Hope this helps, and if you want an more complete list let me know I'd be glad to help.
Math.

Dave Matthews Band has a sax full time, and there's a midwest band called Domestic Problems that has a trumpet and really lets it dominate the sound at times.

Ever heard of the WYLDE BUNCH? ?

I play the trumpet, and I am part of this hip-hop/alternatve band. We have a complete horn section consisting of trumpet, sax, and trombone.
Many people compare us to EWF, Outkast, and Linkin Park....check us out!!
