Greece needs all the help it can get as it is not able to fend for it's self. We all live on this planet together. Boundries should not exist when people are in need of help. So what if we are allies, in the same union? When someone is in need the human thing to do is help. The rest is crap. Hasn't Greece helped Turkey in time of catastrophy and vice versa?

It's like saying that Greece doesn't need to help the States in time of need because it has nothing to do with the European Community.

Any help is more than welcomed.

Of course. Greece is the birth-place of democracy. The US and Greece have this as a special connection. Greece is special to many Americans who have visited that wonderful nation as tourists or who are Greek American. Greece is also an important military/political ally. Haven't we squandered enough international good-will?

It is true that the US and Greece are both in NATO, but that's only for military help and not humanitarian relief. The US is also too far away and Greece has already had 17 nations who are nearby to help them.

I think anyone who has the capability of helping should help. I mean if your neighbours house is burning, do you just stand there while and watch? Or if it is someone down the street, would you not atleast offer blankets and food or some sort of help even if you couldnt help them throw water etc etc.

People are watching Greece burn to a crisp and are watching us die. I hope it has been a nice entertainment for them. It is just.. wrong.

Well I hate repeating myself but here it is again:Greece needs and should accept any help there is offered. If the US can help, now by helping putting out those fires,or later with financial aid it is more than welcome. In an hour of need it's not time to judge other people's help and start thinking what are the motives behind it.You take it and are grateful that they could and wanted to help you in your hour of need.So to answer your question, the US shouldn't help us(no one is obligated to help us) but if you could and would it would mean a lot to us and we would be very grateful for any help...

aahhhmmmmm - yup - there was something on TV saying that the US is considering to send aid!

Honestly - it is nice to be helped but in the case of the US ppl are looking to be put on a pedestal for their help!
like Gods - I bet they think they are Gods!

well why the US is considering to help ,lets just stick with our friends in the EU!

It is too late to discuss this now, the fires will soon be out because there is nothing left to burn, so by the time US planes get her it will all be over.

they didnt help New Orleans, when they faced catastrophe, why on earth you think they would bother helping us??

USA usually give one and take 2 in return

besides Nato is an agreement based on military assistant and cooperation only-
