of course there is ..the same way you start an outboard engine on a boat ..best to start on a hill facing down of course ..you need to run and get up to speed of about 35 mph ..at that point you place the rotating head of the strimmer on to the ground .be careful as at that speed if it digs in you might damage the strimmer head ..as well as your own ..hope this is of use to you ..cant stop ..off to clean the ashtrays on my motorbike then off to but a pennies worth of uranium

you will have to put a new pull cord in it but they aren't expensive and my dad had to replace one on a petrol hedgestrimmer and it was very simple yet a bit fiddly.

yes get your mate to tow you round the garden put yourself in your best gear when you have built up enough speed let your crutch out and hey presto, nothing .what a daft question.

No, the pull cord is the only way.
