Also, does the price differ between bands; like between smaller and larger ones?

Does anyone know a range of prices? (Such as in the thousands... hundred thousands, etc.)

That seriously depends on the band. If you already have the venue and don't have to rent it out then you are already one step ahead. Small bands (ie. indie local bands) will be way cheaper. Some may play for a portion of the door money you raise.
Larger bands can go as high as you can imagine, especially when you start thinking about their rider as well (what they demand to even be at the gig ie. pay for their sound guy, dinner, beer, fresh flowers backstage etc.). If you are having a charity event many bands will take a pay cut or play for free, but don't depend on that.

Yeah, depends on the size of the band, the popularity of the band and the location they will be playing at.
