It seems that we never learn! Our government often supports monsters if it thinks that it will benefit from it somehow, though as we know, that's not always the case. For example, during the 80s the al-Qaeda were supposedly the "good guys" because they were fighting the big, bad Communists in Afghanistan. I guess Reagan & Co. never thought that they might eventually turn on us. And what makes Bush & Co. think that these Sunni groups won't eventually turn on the US, as well?

Same media prossie that claimed America was poised to bomb Iran last year.
Why wasn't I surprised the NY Times ran his story?
Irrespective of Hersh, even a minimal understanding of warfare highlights the fact that alliances and loyalties change frequently in guerrilla strife.

since this cannot be confirmed so i guess i would respond with an old saying..."the enemy of my enemy is my friend"...and that sometimes war like politics makes strange bedfellows.
or... could it be yet ANOTHER conspiracy for another attack on America by GWB and his cronies just before election so he can suspend the Constitution and declare himself ruler for life. some say so...

WOW! No Congressional oversight? How did that happen? I'm shocked! Well, it's one more thing for Congress to brush under the rug and hope that the rest of us don't notice.

Whatever.
Everybody knows Hersh is a liar.
He reports the truth,so he has to be a traitor and a terrorist and he hates Jesus too.
