I've heard some say they are, and some that say they aren't. Does anyone know of a website or something that says if they are or aren't? Thanks!

In an interview a few days before this question (on August 24, 2007), Serena Williams claims that she never lapsed from being a Jehovah's Witness.

An interview a few months ago claims that all the Williams siblings "remain devoted" to the Jehovah's Witness faith.

All the Williams girls were brought up as Jehovah's Witnesses and all of them, [Serena] tells me, remain devoted to their faith. (Serena even goes door to door when she has time.) Not only that, but their best friends are Witnesses too.

Anyone obsessed with the matter may wish to consider this fine information:

Serena Williams Jehovah

Consider the Evidence: is Venus and Serena Williams appearance, speech, and conduct an indication to people that they are indeed Jehovah’s Witnesses?
As Jehovah’sWitnesses We are conscious of the need for a modest appearance, wholesome speech, and have proper conduct no matter who or what we are.
However, whether we are going to school, working at a secular job, or participating in recreation, everything about us should give evidence that we live by Jehovah’s righteous standards.
4 Jesus said: “A city cannot be hid when situated upon a mountain. . . . Let your light shine before men, that they may see your fine works and give glory to your Father who is in the heavens.” (Matt. 5:14-16) This should be true in everything we do not matter what. at all times. We do not seek fame and glory for ourselfves.
Venus and Serena Williams may find that they should be reluctant to say they are witnesses because of the lifestyle chosen by them.
Whatever they are doing, they need to ask yourselves, ‘Am I serving Jehovah part-time or full-time?’ May we never have to pass up an opportunity to talk to others about the good news of God’s Kingdom.

I Hope help

Absolutely not in any way, shape or form are these two powerful icons members of this cult. Like Scientology, the JW s are a very small, insignificant cult that has no influence or appeal. So they have to pay celebrities to endorse them. With the Watchtower and Bible Tract Society which is the corporate entity that owns the JW s it is strictly a financial exchange. Despite both organizations being high-control cults, Scientology is surprisingly the more sinister of the two. Scientology collects video and records "sessions" held with it s members asking you to share your deepest fears, traumas, secrets and transgressions. They then keep files of this data. As John Travolta and Tom Cruise rose to fame, the church asked for endorsement threatening to release the information they d collected over the years. Without such celebrity endorsement, the cult has no current relevance. So the threats they make are severe. The JW s simply decide who their target audience is and select a celebrity they feel will generate exposure. A real JW will not allow their children to participate in any school activity much less a sport. Competitions of any kind are against JW doctrine. Participation in such are grounds for disfellowshipping or ex-communication on behalf of the cult. If they were actually JW s they would have been disfellowshipped for competing, and for wearing revealing clothing.

They might associate with j.w but I doubt very much they are baptized especially Serena.as for thanking Jehovah after winning a final she really shouldn't as god has nothing to do with it.the witness work is the most important part of a jw life not beeing the best tennis player in the world.

They were raised as JWs and claim to be JW's, but they don't fit in with bible standards. They seem to be perusing eathly things (money, fame ect...)
In no way did JWs paw them to say that they are JWs. What's the point of wasting money on that where Kingdom Halls can be built for real interested ones? They were raised as JWs and claim to be JW's, but they don't fit in with bible standards. To play in the Olymics, they would have to listen to the national anthem and sing it. Also, traning time would take up almost all of their day. To be a JW sacrifice is needed. If they were, they would be out on the ministry on Saturday or some other day.

Yes they are Jehovah's Witnesses. They might not be intervewed in the Watchtower anytime soon but so what. They have a good life and they do good things for people.

JWs have really high standards, or there'd propaply be twice as many members. Some things get you disfellowshipped, but most are just frowned at, like going to clubs and wearing worldly clothes.

I went to a JW convention and some anti-JWs were there with bullhorns to make trouble and they were yelling at some JW girls with short skirts for being whores. It was hard not to laugh because JW girls are chaste and these three did not look like whores. They were bright red from embarrassment, and tried to run in their high heels. The point is that thier skirts were too short for Kingdom Hall but they were young and looked good and good looking girls want to show off. They don't get disfellowshpped for wearing short skirts.

The Williams girls look good, and they dress like young girls who know they look good. That might not be a great witness, but the Williams are a mllion times better than Britney Spears and Lindsy Lohan and these other foolish worldly girls.

I don't know how devout they are about it but both Venus and Serena have often been known to thank "my god Jehovah" among other individuals after they have won a big tournament. I'd say that makes them Jehovah's witnesses.

I think they was rise up in the faith. But I dont think they are REAL JWs. Base on how they live, and the things they do......Just because one may use Jehovah name, dont make them one. Baptism and dedication is what make one of JW......then trying to live the way the bible outline.
