What matters is that his received a plurality of the total vote.

Counties are nothing more that administrative districts of the state.

ONE MAN ONE VOTE: Just because a lot of people live in cities, that is no reason to try to diminish their vote!

And yes Bush did win the popular vote (In '04 not '00), and to me that's what really matters. The Electoral College Sucks.

I suppose algore cares.

Isn't it sort of a tradition for a candidate to expect his home state to vote for him to show everyone else that the folks who know you best want you in office? How many counties did algore carry in Tennessee? How much of the popular vote?

But regardless, it's how our elections work.. and there is a very good reason for it.

I'm concerned about what is going to happen in 2008. Who is going to be our next President and how is he or she going to get us out of Iraq in the way that is most safe to our troops? (and) Will he or she defend and protect the Constitution of the United States as all Presidents sware to do?

I'm sure that you find it very disconcerting when you see that red map of the United States and realize that the dems control very little of the country. Of course that control is almost absolute just like the old Soviet Union. Three democratic candidates, one party line. Don't you love choice?
