Their styles are different, but I love both Mayer and Frusciante.

I think alot of people will say Mayer simply because they don't know any better. Mayer will probably be remembered more, as well while Frusciante will spend the rest of his career in the shadow of the talents around him. He'll probably pop up in some Best of in Rolling Stone sometime. I think the first answer is correct though, Mayer's cocky attitude isn't doing him any favors. And saying that he's the savior of the blues, definitely isn't winning him any points with me.
