About four months ago a moronic security guard tried to stop me from leaving a parking lot by running in front of my car. It completely surprised and shocked me. I wasn't expecting it. I hit my breaks to keep from hitting him. He called the cops and told them this moronic story. I had to post a $5,000 bond. I showed up at court and was told that the case had been cancelled and that I wouldn't be charged with anything. But, now no matter how hard I try or what office I talk to, I can't get my $5,000 back. I contacted a lawyer about this. He got back to me a few days later and told me for a $1,000 fee he could get the bond released right away! I just can't afford that. Is there any other way?

So how much money did you have to dig out of your pocket to post this bond? $500, you got nothing coming back.....$5000 cash, you need to have the clerk look up the disposition of the case.....they didnt cancell it........most likely it was a DA reject, which should have a order w/
it, releasing the money back to who posted it, if
it was a cash bail...........

You need to talk to the Manager at the Clerk of Courts office. In person would be better.
